Numerik Desktop Grid Update:

Same Power, Smarter Experience

Written by Fatima Jamal
Updated today

If you’ve been using Numerik for a while, you’ll know the grid has always been at the heart of how you work. It’s familiar, reliable, and does exactly what you need.

That hasn’t changed.

What has changed is how it feels and what it can now do for you.

This latest update is primarily a visual and usability enhancement - everything you already know still works exactly the same. But behind the scenes, we’ve added a couple of thoughtful improvements to make your day-to-day workflow smoother and more powerful.

What’s New (Without Changing What You Know)

1. Column Memory – Your Layout, Your Way

You can now drag, drop, and reorder columns - and Numerik will remember your layout.

  • Move columns to suit how you think and work

  • Come back later and find everything exactly where you left it

  • No need to reset your view every time

This small change removes a surprising amount of friction, especially for users who rely on consistent layouts for analysis or reporting.

2. From Grid to Chart in Seconds

Your grid can now be turned into a visual instantly - making it easier to spot trends and patterns without leaving Numerik.

How to create a chart:

  1. Select the columns you want to map
(Tip: you can drag columns next to each other first so only the relevant data sits together—this helps remove unwanted columns in between)

  2. Right-click on your selection

  3. Choose “Chart Range”

  4. Choose from a range of charting options:

  • Bar charts for comparisons

  • Line charts for trends

  • Pie charts for distribution

  • Scatter plots for deeper analysis

This takes Numerik’s promise of being a live reporting tool to the next level - no exporting, no external tools, just insight where your data already lives.

Example 1: Sales Performance Over Time

In the example below, we’ve selected:

  • Two historical sales columns

  • Current revenue

  • Reps/BDMs names

From this, Numerik instantly generates a chart that shows:

  • How each BDM is performing over time

  • Trends between historical and current revenue

  • Clear comparisons across team members

Why this matters:

  • Quickly identify top performers

  • Spot declines or growth trends early

  • Support performance conversations with real data

Instead of scanning rows and columns, you can see the story immediately.

Example 2: Revenue Insights by Customer Segments

Using your available data - product, customer, industry type, and location - you can create powerful visual breakdowns such as:

Scenario: Revenue by Industry and Location

Select:

  • Industry Type

  • Location

  • Revenue

Turn it into a chart to instantly see:

  • Which industries are driving the most revenue

  • Geographic performance patterns

  • Opportunities for expansion or focus

Or: Product Performance by Customer

Select:

  • Product

  • Customer

  • Revenue or Quantity

Visualise:

  • Which products perform best for which customers

  • Cross-selling opportunities

  • Underperforming product lines

A Simple Upgrade, Real Impact

Nothing about how you use Numerik has been taken away or changed.

You’ll still work in the same grid - but now with:

  • layouts that stay the way you set them

  • faster ways to visualise and understand your data

It’s the same Numerik experience - just more flexible and a bit more powerful where it counts.
