Welcome to this guide on Numerik's latest feature which we call POSTS.

CONTENTS (click the links below to navigate through this article)

What are posts and how can I use them?

  • Enhanced version of the previous Numerik notes functionality

  • Ability to capture notes, add tasks and create opportunities against customers

  • Add photos, videos, voice notes to your posts to help tell a story

  • Ability to create and share content with your teams, highlighting wins, insights and important information

  • Ability to select your audience for posts, to yourself or to various teams

All of this functionality while you are on the go from your mobile phone without having to sit down at your computer!

Accessing Posts in Numerik

You can access posts in the Numerik menu:

Watch this quick video below which takes you on a tour of the new features! Once you've finished watching the video, please see below guide on how you can start using them.

Creating posts from the Posts page

There are two locations you can create posts, the first is on the posts page by clicking the blue circle in the bottom right hand corner. This will bring up a New Post popup as you'll see on the screenshot below:

For creating a new post you can:

  1. Decide what post type depending on what it is you want to capture:

    1. Note - general notes for future reference

    2. Task - assigns an action to yourself or to someone else with a due date.

    3. Opportunity - create a sales opportunity

  2. Add a tag to help categorize this post (F2F, Phone call, Virtual etc) which helps you to filter for specific types of posts later down the track!

  3. Choose a customer to assign this post to. If it's not specific to a customer, you don't have to assign to any customer. This can be used if you want to share information with your team regarding all customers or products/promotions.

  4. Add your notes - you can type these or use the voice to text function.

  5. Upload a photo / video / file / voice note to go with your post. The old saying a picture paints a thousand words certainly is true when you are having to type those thousand words out on your phone!

  6. Choose whether you want to share this with only yourself or with your team. For notes about your customers you may not wish to share these with your team, but where you've had a huge win and want to share your success you have the ability to post this to your team using "Team Posts" so that they can see it too!

EXERCISE:

Create a post using the note post type, post it to your team posts including a photo and a note.

Other locations to create posts in Numerik

You can also create a post from the Numerik leaderboard, or when you search for a customer in the Numerik menu.

From the leaderboard, click on a customers name and from the Actions menu select

View Posts. This will automatically assign any post you make to this customer.

You can also see posts and add posts against a customer when you search for them in the menu.

Click on customers up the top and start typing the customers name and they will appear. Click on their name to be taken through to their posts page.

EXERCISE:

Search for a customer in the Numerik menu and then add a new post for yourself only.

Creating tasks

When creating a new post anywhere in Numerik you can change the post type to a task which you can then assign an action to someone in your team or yourself, with a due date for when this needs to be actioned by.

Depending on whether this action/task is for yourself or for someone else in your team, you can select who this is assigned to. If you assign this to someone else this will now appear in their task list (which we'll cover off later in this article).

If this task is time critical, you can set a due date on this.

And like other posts you can add notes as well as photos/videos to elaborate on what the required action is for this task:

EXERCISE:

Add a task for yourself to follow up one of your customers with a phone call. We'll cover off where you can see these tasks in the next section!

Viewing and using my posts and team posts

In the Posts page you'll be able to navigate between MY POSTS and TEAM POSTS.

My posts will contain anything that you've shared to yourself only, and any tasks which have been assigned to you from someone else in the team.

Team posts will contain anything that has been shared to your team, this could be wins/shoutouts, promotional info, tips, competitor intel or anything you see fit to share with your colleagues!

As more and more posts are entered into Numerik and the months tick by, detailing all of your customer visits, tasks, updates - it's important that you can filter to find what you are looking for. This is where our post types and tags come into their own!

Adding filters to My Posts and Team Posts

Using the filter we can display certain types of posts to help narrow down the content we are looking at.

The Post Types filter enables you to isolate and view not only notes, tasks and opportunities, but also narrow it down even further. You can look for tasks that are open, overdue, or completed, and opportunities that are open, expired, or awaiting quote.

The Tags filter enables you to isolate and view posts that are related to the tag that you originally used when creating the post. This allows you to look at all of your F2F visits you've tagged, or all posts related to a campaign, or actions that relate to a certain activity (pricing request, June promotion on tools etc.). For more information on the tags that can be setup, please contact support@numerik.ly.

Filtering for a specific time period

You can select a time period to filter for all posts during that time. As an example If you wanted to look at all of your F2F visits from last quarter, or see certain tasks that you've completed this month - then this gives you the ability to filter for these.

You can also select "All time" which will display all of your posts.

Interacting and commenting on posts

Much like a LinkedIn post, you can add comments and react to any posts (including your own!). This can be really helpful if you want to add comments to close out an action or add to an existing note, or to celebrate and provide feedback to posts that your teammates have made.

Click on the emoji button and select one of the below options to react to a post:

And click on Comments and type in the Leave a Comment box to give your feedback. You can also upload a photo / video to your comment too!

This becomes a thread like what you would see on social media platforms.

Starting to use Posts as part of your day to day

Now you've seen the basics, here's how you can start to use Posts to help manage your sales activity.

  1. Everytime you visit a customer, add a note (with photos if applicable) and tag it as a F2F visit.

  2. The next time you visit this customer, search for them in Numerik and bring up your notes.

Rinse and repeat steps 1 & 2 until you start to build up lots of notes and you do it by habit!

  3. When you have an action that's required for a customer, rather than noting it down on paper or e-mailing yourself or someone in the team, create a task and assign it with a due date.

  4. Get into the habit of checking your posts everyday to see what tasks you have outstanding. Filter for open tasks and overdue tasks to see specifically what actions you have to take!

  5. Share information with your colleagues by posting to Team Posts. Shout from the rooftops if you've had a big win, or have found out some intel that you think the rest of the team should hear.

  6. Check out what the rest of your team is posting. Use the Team Posts page to see the latest information, and comment and react to help encourage your colleagues to share information. Sharing is caring, and particularly for new starters in the team it can be really helpful to get the level of insight from veterans of the Sales game!

  7. If there are any tags that you would like added to track a specific product range, new product, campaign, promotion or trend - then please contact support@numerik.ly for further help!
