Using Filters on Desktop Scorecards in Numerik

The filter option on desktop scorecards in Numerik is a powerful tool that allows you to apply temporary filters for enhanced data analysis. These filters are simple to use and can be removed just as easily, making them ideal for adjusting your view of the data on the go.

Whether you want to drill down into specific product groups, analyze the performance of individual products, or narrow down your customer base by geographic region or category, the filter feature helps you refine your data to get the insights you need quickly.

How to Access and Apply Filters

To access the filters, click on the filter icon located among the icons on the right-hand side of the screen. You'll see a range of filter options that correspond to the fields pulled through to Numerik for your account.

You can apply multiple filters at once, allowing you to dig deeper into the data. For instance, you might want to:

  • Focus on a particular sales region by filtering customers based on geographic data.

  • Track specific product performance by filtering product categories or individual SKUs.

  • Compare the purchasing behaviours of different buying groups.

Once you’ve selected the filters that suit your needs, click the Apply button on the right-hand side of the screen. This will lock in the filters so you can work with the refined data set by updating the grid data and amount cells reflecting what filters were applied.

To remove filters or reset them to explore different scenarios, simply click Clear All.

Benefits of Using Filters

Using filters in Numerik offers several benefits that can significantly enhance your data analysis:

  1. Improved Focus: By filtering out irrelevant data, you can zero in on the exact information you need, whether it’s for performance reviews, planning, or making data-driven decisions.

  2. Deeper Insights: Filters allow you to look at your data from multiple angles. For example, you could analyze product sales by region or customer category to understand purchasing trends more clearly.

  3. Flexibility: You can apply and remove filters as needed, which is particularly useful for those times when you want to experiment with different views of the data. This flexibility supports better decision-making and quicker responses to changing business conditions.

  4. Efficiency: Rather than wading through large data sets manually, the filter feature helps you save time by quickly narrowing down the relevant information, making it easier to present focused reports or uncover trends.

Additional Use Cases

From my experience working with various clients, filters have proven essential in several scenarios:

  • Sales Target Tracking: Sales teams often filter data to track performance against targets by region, sales rep, or product line. This allows them to spot underperforming areas and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Commission Tracking: By applying filters to product categories or specific reps, managers can easily assess whether team members are on track to meet commission thresholds or identify areas needing support.

  • Campaign Effectiveness: Marketing teams can filter customer data based on recent campaigns to assess the impact of promotions in different regions or demographics.

Conclusion

The filter option on desktop scorecards in Numerik is more than just a simple data manipulation tool. It’s a way to tailor your data analysis, allowing for more strategic insights and quicker decision-making. By enabling you to filter by various parameters such as region, customer category, or product, you can quickly uncover trends and details that would otherwise be buried in raw data.

Make the most of the filter feature by applying it regularly in your analysis processes. Whether you're evaluating product performance, tracking sales goals, or analyzing customer segments, filters can help turn your data into actionable insights.
